About Kastelir:
The community of Kastelir is in the central western part of Istria, some 15 km west of Pazin, and 10 km north east of the picturesque coastal town of Porec. It provides a holiday which combines the pleasures of being close to the sea with the possibility of practicing water sports. At the same time it also provides the feeling of rural Croatian life.

Kastelir is a working village with very friendly and helpful inhabitants. There are two or three shops in the village from which it is possible to purchase products such as bread, milk, tea, coffee, breakfast cereals, meat and fish. The town is within walking distance from Ruzmarin. There are also three bars and two restaurants, both of which provide a good mixture of Italian and Croatian cuisine. The fish dishes in this area are of a very good quality. The surrounding villages all seem to have a restaurant or two and the San Dominica seems to be a very good one. A local vineyard sells its wine to the public and is said to be of the best quality available in the Porec hinterland.
