Description
Villa Wagner was built in 1891 and is a monument of architecture from the XIX century. It is located in the centre of the town of Samobor, 20 km from Croatia's capital city of Zagreb. The villa is positioned in a beautiful park which has landscaped gardens decorated with plants from all over the world.
The villa has a basement, a ground floor and a first floor. The main entrance has high ceilings with the huge doors that lead into a spacious room on the ground floor of the house. The rooms on the first floor are "piano nobile" and are accessible with the curved stairs.
The villa was renovated 10 years ago based on the renovation project done by a very well known architect. However it is not finished all the way. The work that was done then includes:
• new foundation with new plumming
• new ceilings and roof
• new paint inside and outside
• new electric, water and heat
• new outside woodwork on 33 windows and 9 doors

Another sweet treat is “Samoborske kremsnite”, which is a cake of custard and flaky pastry. Traditional meals are also abundant in Samobor; you should try “Pri Staroj Vuri” near the main square which also sometimes hosts poetry readings.
