The villa is situated on the ancient shores of a lake still the first century, was the largest lake in Tuscany.
In 1852 the Grand Duke Leopold of Lorraine II approved the draft Alessandro Manetti and the lake was drained.
In this area of Lake Sestum in 1995 was established the first Natural Protected Area of Interest Regional.

Cenni Storici sulla zona
La villa sorge sulle antiche rive di un lago che ancora prima dell’ottocento, costituiva il più grande lago della Toscana.
Nel 1852 il Granduca Leopoldo II di Lorena approvò il progetto di Alessandro Manetti e il lago venne prosciugato.
In questa area dell’ex lago di Sestum, nel 1995 è stata istituita la prima Area Naturale Protetta d'Interesse Regionale.
