About Brajici:
On the road connecting Cetinje and the coast, there is a gorgeous fortress above the village of Brajici, called Kosmac. This is an Austro-Hungarian fortress built in the 19th century and it used to guard the border between Austro-Hungary and Montenegro. This fortress can be reached only through a non-asphalted road, which had also been built by Austria for its’ strategic needs.
To the West from the Old Town of Cetinje, above a lengthy Mogren beach at Spas hill, one sees Mogren fortress. This object had been built as an army barrack of Austro-Hungarian soldiers back in 1860. One also has an opportunity to see one of the most magnificent views of Budva’s Bay.
Kosmac Fortress:
The fortress of Kosmac is found on a hill in the vicinities of the village of Brajici in the outskirtses of Budva. It is clearly visible from the road that connects Budva to Cetinje. It was constructed from the Austrians between 1841 and 1850 along the border between Montenegro and Austria, the fortress dominates the surrounding zone from a height of more than 800 m. It was the final point of the system of defense of this part of the border. The fortress is of irregular shape, and it has in the center a circular tower and originally it was built of three floors. In 1875 it was visited by the Austrian emperor Franz Joseph. During the World War II, it was used as an Italian outpost. It was abandoned in 1943 and since then it has not been used and has become a ruin.
