About Dobrota:
Dobrota had been developing by the town of Kotor, sharing it’s destiny until the year 1704, when by the mercy of the Venetians, it became an autonomous municipality. As a settlement along 7 km of shore, it was mentioned even in the 12th century. Once it had the largest number of sailing ships for long voyages, and thanks to it’s captains, it was one of the richest places in Boka. A number of palaces and temples built in the Barroque style from the 17th to the 19th centuries, are witnesses of their overseas adventures.
The oldest monuments are: the church of St. Iliad and Lady of Mercy from the 14th century. The church of St. Eustachian from the 18th century is particularly distinguished by its monumentality, with rich treasures in which a number of precious paintings and the church's ceremonial objects are kept, as well as the trophies of wars, from the battles against the Turks inland and on the sea. The altar of this church made ten years ago is ornamented by an imposing mosaic of 100 sqm, is the work of prominent creation by the artist Ede Murtic.
