The breathtaking Great Room spans thirty feet and through Spanish arches accesses a sixty foot terrace that overlooks the turquoise Caribbean Sea. The antiqued white Fiorito marble flooring replicates the floor of a 16th Century French chateau and flows throughout the apartment. The walls are 12 feet in height and veneered with the same marble in “brickwork” to suggest the courtyard of a Mexican hacienda. Soaring to 14 feet, the ceiling of the Great Room is comprised of four authentic red brick cupolas. Above the spacious seating area the cupolas contain two enormous bronze melon chandeliers.
Beneath the brick cupola which defines the Dining Area of the Great Room is a large Mahogany table with seating for twelve. The wall is dominated by a massive oxidized metal frame containing an original cubistic painting.
The kitchen is dominated by two large islands topped with Portugese Roja Caliente marble below suspended halos of halogen lights which span the fourth brick cupola in the Great Room. Flanking the islands are eight foot high door panels concealing the working parts of the kitchen and, when closed and not in use, create an elegant bar area for the ultimate cocktail party. The eye travels through another skylight atrium to the center courtyard and, in the opposite direction, to the sea.
