The community of Richmond – Knob Hill is located in Calgary’s southwest. Most of the development in this area occurred in the 1950s, but there is lots of redevelopment happening with new homes being built. Richmond/Knob Hill residents’ have easy access to Calgary’s pathway system and the community is located nearby the Southwest Regional Park, Richmond Green golf course and the Alberta Children’s Hospital. The commercial area of Marda Loop is also nearby. Richmond-Knob Hill recently completed construction of a new community centre which offers a variety of activities to residents. A playgroup, dog training groups and a moms and tots group make use of the center. Richmond – Knob Hill facilitates a popular soccer and baseball program, and its hockey and pleasure skating rinks offer recreational opportunities to residents. The community centre also hosts annual Easter, Halloween and February chill out celebrations. Frequent bingos and casinos allow the centre to raise money for these events. |
