Windermere

Windermere is a small community located on the East side of Lake Windermere. It is across the lake from the town of Invermere and a tad south. It is an 8 minute drive to all of the services of Invermere.
Lot prices range from the $150,000 range all the way up to $1 million for waterfront when they come up. Windermere has its own community beach. Home prices start in the $300,000 range and go up from there depending on location, views and water access. There is the White House pub, Windy Cafe and a grocery store for services. Water is community provided by the Regional District of East Kootenay and most properties have a private septic sewer system on their property. Guidleines for building and renovations are implemented by the R D E K with head office in Cranbrook. There is an elementary school as well as community hall located in the heart of the community.
