Welcome to Coal Harbour- Vancouver's most prestigous downtown waterfront location.
Located next to Stanley Park, Coal Harbour is one of the relatively newer neighbourhoods - High-rise glass building have sprouted like mushrooms over the past 15 years - although the history of Coal Harbour goes back much further than that - hundreds of years in fact
Originally, the site was inhabited by the Coast Salish and Squamish Indians (First Nations) who lived and prospered from the land. The discovery of coal in the harbour in 1862 inspired the name of the community, Coal Harbour.
Coal Harbour was mainly a shipping port from the late 1880's to the 1950's till two huge fires destroyed the docks. The shipping industry was changing - but the biggest change was when the Westin Bayshore was built in 1961 (then called The Bayshore Inn) - which housed Howard Hughes, who rented the entire top floor.

At 9 pm every night - you can hear the Nine O'Clock Gun which was installed in 1894 in Stanley Park and can be heard up to 70 kms away. People still set their watches to it!
Coal Harbour offers beautiful homes with water views, a marina, restaurants, coffee shops, and the ever so popular Seawall which is great for biking or taking a leasuriely stroll.
