Driving Distance:Driving Distance: Downtown Halifax can be reached within 20 minutes of Royale Hemlocks, or the Ravines.  The Rotary is within 20minutes, and the bridges are also approximately 15 minutes away.

Two of the largest new developments near Halifax are Royale Hemlocks and The Ravines subdivisions, which along with Cresthaven, comprise Bedford South. They are located just off of the Bedford Highway and are comprised of mixed housing, including at least two large condominium complexes in each, stone front row housing reminiscent of New York Brownstones, semi-detached homes and wonderful single-family residences. Strong covenants for the area require a certain amount of brick on the facade of the homes in these areas, which has kept a continuity to the neighborhoods, making them quite nice in terms of curb appeal. Although the lots are smaller than those just outside the city, this is definitely a family area, where kids are often seen playing out front of the homes. Finally, although there is a tremendous amount of new construction continuing in the area, as these neighborhoods mature, they will be highly sought after in years to come. Condos start in the low $200s', townhomes in the $260+ range and single family homes near $400k to start and go up to around $700k.

Cresthaven is a more established, more mature neighborhood with an ideal selection of Nova Scotian single family homes. Convenient and well thought out, it is a prestigious neighborhood whiere prices start in the $400k range!
