Crichton Park
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Presented by Roz Prince of Sutton Group
Crichton Park is a charming and desirable neighbourhood located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and is part of the Halifax Regional Municipality. This area is primarily residential in nature and is very centrally located.
Crichton is a Scottish surname derived from the Gaelic word crioch, which means border, and the Old English word tune which means farm or settlement. It is thus to be assumed that the first bearer of this surname lived on a border. Crichton is also a place in Midlothian, Scotland and is the location of Crichton Castle where Mary Queen of Scots married Lord Darnley in 1565. She later married Earl of Bothwell, owner of Crichton Castle, and lost her crown as a result.
