Armdale

Armdale is one of best recognized names in Halifax, but a neighbourhood that is full of surprises - even for long time residents of Halifax - Have you tried the Armview Restaurant recently? 

Newcomers to the Halifax area who have arrived from from other cities are often amused by we locals who complain about 'rush hour' traffic. When 'we' conveniently forget is that rush hour is almost always less than an than an hour long and the Armdale rotary is one of those rare spots where you can watch Osprey fishing while you wait a minute or two...

Located less than 15 minutes from downtown Halifax business and shopping areas, other major shopping centres and all universities - Armdale is also home to rich recreation opportunities such as the Armdale Yacht Club pictured at left, Long Lake Provincial Park, and Flemming Park ("The Dingle").

Armdale includes the areas surrounding Chocolate Lake (How nice a name is that!) and extending along the western shore of the Northwest Arm. The newly renovated "Chocolate Lake Hotel" has one of the finest settings in the Halifax Area.
