The population of Ajax is growing and changing. To ensure the Town is able to respond to the needs of all residents Council approved the Diversity and Community Engagement Plan in 2010.

The Plan includes the Town's Diversity Polity Statement which states:

"The diversity of Ajax is one of its greatest strengths. The Town of Ajax embraces and values diversity, promoting an engaged, healthy and inclusive community. The Town is strongly committed to equity and diversity through its policies, procedures, service delivery, amenities and employment practices."

A series of recommendations will be implemented in the coming years with a focus on providing residents with equitable access to:

• Employment Opportunities;
• Programs and Services;
• Community and civic engagement; and
• Tools to help strengthen neighbourhoods.
