Kanata Lakes

   Location:

Kanata Lakes is a neighbourhood in the
northern section of Kanata. Located north
of  highway 417, Kanata Lakes' main street
is  Kanata Avenue which runs into the
neighbournood of Glen Cairn where it
becomes  Castlefrank Road. It has four
major  side roads: Knudson Drive, Walden
 Drive,  Goulbourn Forced Road, and
 Campeau Drive.

Characteristics:

Kanata Lakes offers a wide variety of choice for homebuyers, a safe place to raise children, and an atmosphere of living in a community with a golf course.

The community has a significantly higher than average household income and lower unemployment rate than Ottawa as a whole. It's a short drive to the Kanata North Business Park (“Silicon Valley North”), the largest business park in the National Capital region and home to many of the city’s high-tech companies. (Nortel, Mitel, Alcatel, AMD, Entrust, Quake Technologies, Hewlett Packard and Cisco just to name a few).

With a positive annual population growth rate and new housing and commercial developments  under way, Kanata Lakes is steadily growing, but not at the expense of green space. There are a wealth of parks, wooded areas and walking trails within the community and it's a short walk to the South March Highlands, 600 protected acres of Canadian Shield acquired by the city in 2001.

As a newer commmunity, Kanata Lakes has the luxury of balancing expansion between residential, commercial and recreational growth, making the area an ideal place to work, live and play!
