Stonebridge: Saskatoon's newest community

Stonebridge, one of Saskatoon's newest and most vibrant communities, is primarily a residential area currently under development in Saskatoon's southend. Originally planned in the early 1980s, construction in the neighbourhood only began in 2005. Stonebridge is located south of Cirlce Drive between Preston Avenue and Clarence Avenue South. It is ideally situated in close proximity to The Willows Golf & Country Club and the Saskatoon Auto Mall. A quick drive from home will take you to 8th Street shops and services, schools and downtown destinations.

Though streets and infrastructure servicing in Stonebridge is still under development, construction on a major commercial project is well underway -- Stonegate Shopping Centre. Along with anchor store Wal-Mart (open in 2007) many other shops and services are cropping up in the area including Home Depot, Golftown, Petland, The Brick, Mark's Workwarehouse, Tony Roma's, Addidas and a selection of banking centres. A new overpass at Circle Drive and Clarence Avenue allows traffic to flow in and out of the community with ease.

The first phase of the project had serviced 292 lots. The next few years will add more lots and the neighbourhood is expected to be home to several hundred residents within the first few years.
