Bajamar was conceived in 1975, by Grupo Valcas, a Mexican Real Estate Development conglomerate, when the first phase of the 36-hole golf course was created along with construction of the first homes. Grupo Valcas ran the gauntlet obtaining permits and creating the master infrastructure. In 1991, Grupo Valcas joint-ventured with a major hotel-resort developer to develop the remainder of this property. All homesites are on paved streets with curbs and gutters and fully underground utilities. Electrical power and potable water from "La Mision" some six miles away.
