CHOLLA BAY - YOUR GATEWAY TO PARADISE!

Located 5 miles west of central Puerto Penasco / Rocky Point, and a world away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas, Cholla Bay is not just a vacation development, but instead is a community of caring people who love Mexico and especially Cholla Bay. 

Cholla Bay boasts some of the lovliest homes in greater Puerto Penasco, some located on the water, others with views of Cholla's estuary or the Sea of Cortes, or both, all within a 5-minute walk of the water.  There are homes for sale in many price ranges, as well as lots just waiting for dream houses to be built.  

The community has a number of businesses, including a bed and breakfast, 3 small markets, 2 restaurants, a cantina, a taqueria, building contractors, launchers to put your boat in and out of the water, 3 real estate offices; many services can be found without leaving the community.

Something that Chollans love to do is socialize and help others, and they blend the two on a regular basis!  You can join the Cholla Bay Sportsmen's Club, which provides marine safety in the upper Sea of Cortes; the Old Boys' Social Club, which is also for old girls; "old" means over 21! Their stated purpose is to have fun, which they do! Profits after all that fun support a number of charitable causes. Cholla Charities collects cash donations (give at Xochitl's Restaurant or at Casa Monica B&B) that provides funds to help Chollans with true emergencies, and  animal lovers can give to the Cholla Spay & Neuter fund.

The community clubhouse, owned by the Vecinos de la Cholla (the HOA, which in 2010 costs $200/year), is the setting for monthly parties for the community, board meetings, can be rented by members for special activities, and is open most afternoons from October through May for bridge, pinochle, chess, Scrabble games. The annual Christmas party held by members of Vecinos de la Cholla for our Mexican neighbors is a highlight event that everyone eagerly anticipates.     

Swim, fish, play in the sand, hike, walk the beautiful estuary, meet great people, relax, and perhaps fall in love - with Cholla Bay. Some people arrive and never leave - Cholla Bay is truly their Paradise!
