Mirabel Village

When Mike Meldman of Discovery Land Company decides to create a community – he does it well. And, he finishes what he starts. One of his shining successes is the Mirabel community. Mirabel is located in Northern Scottsdale and built on gently sloping terrain with spectacular views of Pinnacle Peak and the city lights of Phoenix and Scottsdale.

Tom Fazio designed the 7,127 yard golf course which is nestled among magnificent private homes. Just over 300 home sites are available within this unique, gated community and they were platted to take advantage of the natural desert setting and provide the opportunity for unbelievable views.  Homeowners have the choice of belonging to the golf club, or simply have a social membership so they can enjoy the ambience of the clubhouse facilities housed in a building designed in the Frank Lloyd Wright style. 

The clubhouse is one of the most unique buildings I’ve seen. It is called the Desert Lodge and provides a relaxed dining experience, as well as multiple outdoor areas for relaxing and meeting friends while enjoying the spectacular sunsets. It contains, among other things, a state of the art workout facility adjacent to the locker rooms. The rectangular swimming pool provides the opportunity to relax and cool off, but large enough for the more serious swimmer to do their laps. After a good workout on the golf course, practice range, fitness center, or in the pool, enter the locker room areas that provide a spa like setting with hot tubs and an aura of serenity. 

The key to the success of a community designed by Discovery Land is the amenities they provide, as well as the highly trained staff. Every employee is trained to greet you by name, whether you are a member or guest, and their goal is to insure you enjoy your surroundings at all times. 

In addition to the home sites for custom built homes, Discovery Homes offered 35 luxury homes in the Corazon neighborhood. Their design was inspired by Mary Colter, a famous and well-known architect known for her creations at the Grand Canyon. 

The community is designed to embrace the family lifestyle as well. Throughout the year, events are scheduled for children and their families. As with most of the Scottsdale golfing communities, there is an emphasis on junior golf and tennis programs, as well as recreation areas for the enjoyment of children of all ages. 

As Mirabel matures, many families are now living here as full-time residents. However, their neighbors may be seasonal owners who only come during the winter months. The success of Mirabel is its ability to blend all lifestyles in a warm, inviting venue.
