The Peninsula

The Peninsula on The Indian River Bay is an award-winning, private, gated, resort-style community in coastal Delaware -- an easy drive for the weekend from Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore and Washington D.C.  The homes here are luxurious, ranging from 2-bedroom condominiums to large custom-built single family homes, but it is the lifestyle that has brought over 400 buyers through the gates so far. 

The Peninsula is home to Delaware's first private Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, which is managed by Troon Golf.  Our members say that it is challenging, fun, and overall one of the top courses they have played anywhere.  But golf is only part of the story ... it continues with an array of recreational and leisure amenities not to be found in any other mid-Atlantic resort community.  The Lakeside Village Center area includes:

• Tennis center with 2 Har-Tru and 6 Premier courts.  One court has stadium seating, and four are lit for night-time play.  Tennis pro on staff.
• Fully staffed, state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with Cybex circuit and cardio training machines, free weights, an aerobics and yoga studio, and full time fitness director.
• Children's activity center equipped with toys, games, air hockey, ping pong table, TVs and planned activities.  Full time activities director on staff.
• Indoor heated lap pool, open year round, with adjoining hot tub.
• Outdoor heated infinity pool and adjoining hot tub, open Memorial Day weekend and beyond Labor Day as weather permits.  Through the summer months, this is a ages 16-and-over area; after Labor Day through closing, it is open to all ages.
• Outdoor wave lagoon with man-made sandy beach surrounding it, open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. 
• Well equipped locker rooms with private showers, and sauna.
• Casual to gourmet dining indoors or poolside at the Terrace Grille.
• Golf Shop fully stocked with high-quality apparel and equipment.  Qualified teaching pro on staff.

The main clubhouse is the next amenity to be constructed, and will offer bar, grill, and formal dining areas in addition to locker rooms and card rooms with food service.  The Peninsula also offers fishing from our private fishing pier, canoeing and kayaking from our to-be-built Nature & Exploration Center, and over five miles of walking/jogging/bike paths.
