Sabal Creek is a gated community located in Port Orange, Florida, just off of Airport Rd. Daytona Beach is a short drive, as are the beach, schools, parks, and shopping.
Johnson Group homes designed and built most homes in this neighborhood and added the unique feature of The Safe Room to many of these houses. This is a concrete room in the center of the house, which would be a safe haven in the event of a hurricane. They used R30 insulation, and high ceilings in all the homes.
The community of Sabal Creek offers small 3 bedroom/2 bath homes and large luxurious homes with 5+ bedrooms/3+ bathrooms. Many of the houses back to conservations areas or to the several lakes. You can find a nice 4 bedroom 3 bathroom home in Sabal Creek, with a 3-car garage and lake view, for less than $500,000. HOA fees run from approximately $450 to $675.

The closest golf course is Cypress Head. Designed by Arthur Hills and Mike Dasher in 1992, the superb conditions and beautiful wetlands of the public course are just as stunning today as 17 years ago. The architects laid out the course amid the cypress forest and natural Florida wetlands with great care for the land. “On most of the holes, you’re going to find beautiful backdrops behind each green setting,” Dasher said. Maintained by the city of Port Orange, the course is known as having some of the best greens in Volusia County.
The course is medium-length (6,832 yards from the back tees and 4,909 from the forward). But you can tell from the rating and slope (73.1/139 from the back tees and 69.3/123 from the forward) that this will be a challenging round. The course can also play very differently from day to day depending on the strength of breezes coming in from the ocean, 10 miles away. So after playing one round, you’re going to want to return to see how you’ll do the next time.
