Mahomet

Mahomet is one of the most scenic cities in Champaign County. It is far enough from the much larger cities of Champaign and Urbana to have a small town feel, but close enough to take you to all the shopping and dining of Champaign/Urbana. I live in Mahomet and love being so close to Lake of the Woods Preserve. There are several trails for biking and hiking. Pavillions can be rented for personal parties or just be enjoyed every day. There is fishing and also paddle boating. Many homes are so close to nature you often see deer grazing in the back yard. The main street is very quaint with shopping and dining. We also have several banks and churches and a wonderful grocery that is currently being remodeled to go green! Mahomet is very school oriented. The school system is one of the best in Champaign County. The school system is one of the main reasons many residents chose to live in our community along with the beauty of the town itself.
