As you drive North through the twists and curves of Lake Shore Drive you will find yourself at the very end, making the choice to follow the lakefront through Sheridan Road or to go West on Hollywood Avenue, this is your entrance to Edgewater. Edgewater has various large avenues that cross it's path and create several different neighborhoods, each with a little different feel and architecture.
Edgewater borders Rogers Park to the North at Devon Avenue, and Uptown to the South at Foster Avenue, along the shores of Lake Michigan. to the East and Ravenswood to the West.
All of Edgewater has easy access to public transit through CTA buses, the Red Line (East of Broadway) and just a skip and a hop to Lake Shore Drive.

Sheridan Road - This is the area closest to the lakefront, it's most marked feature is the large number of high rise buildings along the lake. Some of the most notable findings on Sheridan are the Co-ops at 5555 N. Sheridan, Edgewater Beach, "The Pink Building" is part of what used to be the famed Edgewater Beach Hotel. Malibu and Malibu East, a very large complex of sister buildings with full service available and all or most necessities can be found within the building. Also the almost hidden townhouses, mansions, beaches and parks dwarfed in comparison to the large scale buildings. Various restaurants can be found on Sheridan road and Broadway and the cross streets on Granville, Thorndale and Bryn Mawr.
Edgewater Glen - From Granville to the North, Elmdale to the South, Broadway to the East and Clark to the West, this little "pocket" is a stretch of single family homes and smaller buildings that really have a neighborhood feel. Absolutely the best place to trick a treat in the area!

Lakewood Balmoral - West of Broadway, East of Glenwood, North of Foster and South of Bryn Mawr. A very residential neighborhood of almost exclusively single family homes. Lakewood-Balmoral finds some of the biggest property lots in the area and some of the most beautiful single family homes in the area, additionally the vast majority of homes are of older stock which gives the area tons of character.

Andersonville - West of Lakewood Balmoral up to Ravenswood. Andersonville has some of the best eateries and pubs, most all along Clark street and it's immediate side streets. Andersonville is a mixture of multi-units, single family homes, older, and newer, larger lots and smaller lots, a little bit of everything. Andersonville has a very International feel to it and it is a very hip and diverse neighborhood. The West border of Andersonville along Ravenswood is particularly interesting as it has many old warehouse type buildings that have been converted to residential and commercial lofts.
