Gold Coast

Chicago's Gold Coast is the most prominent neighborhgood in Chicago.  Along the the northern part of Streeterville, the neighborhoods extend along the lakefront from Oak Street to North Avenue and extends inland to Dearborn Parkway.

The housing mix includes Brownstores from the 19th Century and concrete high rises, mostly built in the 1960's.

There is plenty to do and see if you live on the Gold Coast!  Only July 20, the Dearborn Garden Walk and Heritage Festival will be held.  And August 8-10 there is the Gold Coast Rover North Art Fair.

The Gold Coast is home to more than 150 of Chicago's Finest Restaurants, including, Carmine's, Gibsons, Mike Ditka's and McCormick & Schmicks.

There are Art Galleries, close to 100 bars, bookstores, health clubs and libraries for your pleasure.  And Chicago's most upscale hotels are located in the Gold Coast, including the Drake Hotel and Sutton Place Hotel.

Gold Coast Tourism includes, Charnley House, the International Museum of Surgical Science, the Italian Cultural Institute, Loyola University Museum of Art and Magnificent Mile Carriages.
