The Old west is preserved in Virginia City, a welcome to the past environment.
Old town's saloons, historical buildings, museums, the V&T railroad, horse carriages, mines and locals dressed in costumes awaiting visitors.
Most of the homes are historical, some remodeled some in need to be.In the recent years new homes have been built in the same old architectural style. A new Ramada hotel overlooking the Sugar loaf mountain and valley has been built. Great first class restaurants are available and need for more to come.
The largest residential area is just 5 miles North of Virginia City and 8 miles south or Reno and is called Virginia City Highlands. The area is divided in 3 major subdivisions.
-1 acre parcels, called V.C.H Unit 1,
-10 ac parcels called The Highland Ranches Property Owners Association
- 40 ac parcels with no association formed.
Virginia City Highlands is a mountain area for the outdoor living lover. The homes are scattered trough the valley and hill sites, all custom built. Views and privacy are a normal characteristic. The recent years have brought significant development and Real Estate price increase. There are still parcels available to built at all prices and all sizes. Home sizes range from High 300's to High 900's. Sage brush, pinion pines and juniper trees are the area native vegetation. Wild horses, rabbits, deer, coyotes, bears and all sorts of birds are the local friends.
