Beach Haven

Beach Haven is a located at the southern end of Long Beach Island, New Jersey.  It is one of six municipalities located on Long Beach Island (LBI), an 18 mile long barrier island. Beach Haven has a great deal to offer both the vacationer and year round resident. This makes it very popular vacation destination especially for families and a wonderful place to live.  

Beach Haven is rich in history .  There is a historic district with large victorian homes that date back to the early 19th century. It is home to the LBI Museum and Surflight Theatre.  There are many wonderful restaurants, nightlife and unique shops.  Beach Haven has the only amusement park on Long Beach Island which in addition to terrific rides has an arcade and weekly entertainment.  There is also a waterpark that provides hours of fun for children and adults alike.  Whats more, one can walk to most everything, LBI Museumrestaurants, amusements, shopping, the grocery store and pharmacy.

Throughout the year visitors and residents enjoy many activities.  Bicentennial Park, located in the center of town, hosts flea markets, craft fairs and antique car shows and free weekly concerts during the summer.  The Alliance for a Living Ocean puts on educational programs for children.  Off season the Beach Haven is home to LBI's famous ChowderFest, Fireman's Block Party, fishing tournaments and sailing regattas.

Surf Fishing If it is recreation your are looking for lets not forget the beautiful white sandy beaches that offer a place to relax, swim, surf and fish to your heart's content. There is public access at all of the street ends and the beaches are guarded during the summer months.  The bay offers a place for boating, fishing and crabbing and kayaking.  There are playgrounds and parks, an outdoor skate rink, tennis courts and ball fields.

Beach Haven while perhaps best known for its historic victorian homes has a mix of condomiums, shore cottages and large contempory homes.  Ocean and bayfront condominiums are concentrated mainly in the down town area near shops, restaurants, marinas, nightlife and amusements.  The median home price in 2006 was $801,500.

Beach Haven has its elementary school for children K-6 which has approximately 70 students overall.  MiddleBeach Haven Elementary School School and Hight School students attend the Southern Regional School School District in Stafford Township.  Beach Haven has a mayor - commissioner form of government. It also has its own police department, public library and volunteer fire department and first aid squads.  It is a friendly town with a "small town" feel.
