Vernon Heights in the City of Mount Vernon has made great strides in the last few years.  Home sales have gone up in recent years.   Vernon Heights offers many new things in this great area of Mount Vernon. 

In 2004 the Sanford Boulevard revitalization project went under way. The project was meant to economically revitalize the South Side and provide jobs to low-income and unemployed residents in the city. Companies that were included in this project were Target, Starbucks, Bed Bath & Beyond, Staples, Best Buy, Famous Footwear, Stop & Shop, T.J. Maxx, Petco, and Restaurant Depot.

Within the city of Mount Vernon, there are a great number of civic parks on a large and small scale. Numerous events take place periodically during the year, both indoors and outdoors. In Vernon Heights The Ice Hutch is a domed sports complex where ice hockey is played during the winter, located on the grounds of Hutchinson Field, on the southbound side of the Hutchinson River Parkway. Indoor golf and tennis are also available at the Ice Hutch throughout the year. Outdoors at Hutchinson Field, there are many minor-league fields and a batting cage. Adjacent to Hutchinson Field is the stadium-like Memorial Field, which contains a track for running, a soccer/football field, and a tennis court. In the city of Mount Vernon within the Vernon Heights region you will find Wilson Woods Park, a 23-acre county-owned park which features swimming, picnicking, fishing, and biking.

Mount Vernon Heights section along Route 22 and E. Sandford Blvd, which contains many luxurious homes with Tree lined streets.  Its neighborhood elementary schools, Longfellow and Graham have great academics Blue Ribbons school. 

New construction in the area, inuclude a new mult-families for sale by builders consider buyers representation when looking. And a new condo has been constructed in the area aswell. As this are begins to grow so with the prices its always a plus to get into the perfect neighborhood right before its next economic growth.
