In 1988, my cousin introduced me, and my family to a paradise called "Ocean Isle Beach." The atmosphere is just different here.... Ocean Isle Beach is a barrier island in the southernmost area of North Carolina separated from the mainland by the Intracoastal Waterway. This coastal barrier island was incorporated as the Town of Ocean Isle Beach in 1959. The island is approximately seven miles long featuring a wide, white sandy beach and provides a family environment. The current year-round resident population is approximately 425, with a seasonal population of 25,000. In contrast to other resort areas along the southeastern coast, Ocean Isle has chosen to avoid the everyday hustle and bustle. Instead, this resort island has sustained a family beach atmosphere and has proudly kept itself on a low-key, low-rise course. When you cross the bridge, you are on "Island Time". It's the perfect place for vacationers and residents who want to relax and enjoy a quiet, refreshing time. Ocean Isle Beach lies between the historic port of Wilmington, NC and the tourist attractions of Myrtle Beach, SC. Close enough for convenience, but worlds apart in atmosphere! Although Ocean Isle Beach has grown and developed over the years, it has maintained its relaxed and leisurely charm. Our quiet seasons of spring, fall and winter can make you feel that the island is yours alone! We have almost 30 championship golf courses within a 15 mile drive. Restaurants, boutiques, a waterslide, miniature golf, biking, fishing, kayaking, bird watching, boating and watching sunsets are our island idea of fun activities. Concerts in the Park, fishing tournaments, golf tournaments, and the NC Oyster Festival may be enjoyed at Ocean Isle. Ocean Isle is a wonderful place to live, vacation, or retire. We have a property to fit your desire. Call or email me, roger.spaugh@coldwellbanker.com and I will show you how easy it is to own a piece of Paradise, and your beach cottage! Roger
