Mill Spring

Diverse and rich in culture and heritage the area has so much to offer anyone seeking a place to call home. You can choose from volunteerism to vibrant arts and craft festivals to BBQ festivals and extensive Equestrian properties and riding and training opportunities through FENCE and other great organizations.

We enjoy four distinct seasons that bring mild climate year round.

We might well be the smallest county in land mass, within North Carolina, but Polk, with five townships and three municipalities offers a distinct diversity that is pro-business, pro-community, and pro-possibilities.

Our golf and equestrian development(Bright's Creek)is located in the eastern part of the county which remains more rural and enjoys a change in elevation from 1,100 feet to 3,400 feet atop Wild Cat Spur, the tallest peak in Polk county.

Mill Spring, Sunny View, Pea Ridge and Collinsville offer wonderful scenic drives and some of the best views in the county. While most of these places are known simply as crossroads, surprisingly, many of these were sizable communities in the mid 1800's - to the early 1920's  – featuring large homes, stores, churches and even a hotel.

That's where the story begin's when we tell you the history about Bright's Creek and the old community of Walker, NC.
