Located in Union County, 15 miles from downtown Charlotte, the Village of Lake Park was established in 1992 as a Traditional Neighborhood Development.
Today, Lake Park is an inviting village style community with open spaces, homes with rocking chair front porches, and plenty of sidewalks all encouraging time spent outdoors talking with neighbors or just enjoying all the village has to offer. A variety of homes make up the village including traditional single-family homes, patio homes, condos and townhouses. It has the appearance of a charming Mayberry type setting. You almost think June Cleaver will come trotting out with a plate of cookies at any moment.
A landscaped park with a bell tower and a village green with gazebo dominate the Lake Park Town Center in the heart of the village. Town festivals, such as the Kite Festival in March and the Fall Festival, take place at the village green. Lake Park's landmark, a chiming clocktower, overlooks this beautiful village with church, schools, shops, offices, and a community center.
The village includes 3 parks, 2 swimming pools, a wading pool, a "feature pool", tennis courts, 6 playgrounds and 13 ponds which provide plentiful recreation and entertainment. Unique monuments and gazebos identify the distinctive neighborhoods with tree-lined sidewalks connecting them all.
Town Center commercial buildings include office space, a coffee shop, a restaurant and other small businesses. A day care center, a private school, and several churches are also found in the Town Center.
