Welcome to Wintergreen
The Wintergreen subdivision is a neighborhood located in Sumter County, between the western borders of Shaw AFB and the city of Sumter. The area is comprised of about 350 acres. Currently, there are approximately 185 homes with room for expansion up to approximately 250 homes.
This neighborhood rose up in 2001 out of fertile farmland that borders Shaw and sits just off Broad Street. With the real estate market booming, the 4 streets soon filled up with first time home buyers, military families and Columbia commuters drawn to the attractive and modern brick homes on large lots. In 2004, Wintergreen Phase II began, continuing the tradition of building quality brick homes on spacious half acre lots.
Wintergreen has proven to be a popular neighborhood for Sumter buyers. Nice neighbors, attractive homes, quiet streets and the proximity to Sumter, Shaw and the highways for area commuters has kept the market values for Wintergreen homes steady. With a great variety of well-maintained resale homes and new construction homes, there is something for everyone in Wintergreen.
