West Meade Farms was a large sister plantation to the better known Belle Meade Plantation.  Two brothers married two sisters and maintained working plantations near to each other.  West Meade Mansion was the home of Howell Edmunds Jackson - a lawyer and Supreme Court Justice.  West Meade Mansion has always been and still is a private residence.

Developed into a subdivision in the 1960's, West Meade Farms is a highly sought-after place to live because of its excellent location.  Known as "Belle Meade Living without the Belle Meade taxes", West Meade's location is very convenient to shopping, dining, schools, parks and more.  The shopping area of West Meade has everything one could need from boutiques, shops and restaurants to paint and hardware stores to professional services.
