"M" Streets

Greenville Avenue stretches from near Garret Park all the way into the suburb of Richardson and features one-of-a kind shops, restaurants and clubs. Mockingbird Lane divides Greenville Avenue; attractions to the north are referred to as Upper Greenville, and those to the south are referred to as Lower Greenville. The residential areas here appeal to the urban yuppie crowd and the bohemians alike.

The “M Streets” run south of Mockingbird, East of Central Expressway, North of Vanderbilt and West of Skillman. Everyone has their own definition of what the real “M Street” neighborhood is. There are streets that begins with an M, like Mercedes, McCommas, McMillan, Morningside, Merrimac, Matilda but there are other streets too, Vanderbilt, Ridgedale, Ellsworth, Anita and so forth. There are many conservation districts in this area. One of them, Greenland Hills, has one of the most distinctive concentrations of Tudor homes in the country.

Mockingbird Station has condos, retail stores, The Angelica Movie Theater, Condos and apartments, as well as the Dart Rail Station for easy, fast access without a car to Downtown as well as points North. Across the street is The Palomar Hotel which is a wonderful upscale hotel and a reincarnation of Dallas’ original Trader Vic’s.
