Grantsville

Southwest of Salt Lake City, just 33 freeway miles, sits Grantsville Utah, the second largest city in Tooele County. Originally named Willow Creek, the name was changed  in 1850 to honor a soldier, George D. Grant leader of a military force sent to deal with unruly local Indians.

At one time, Grantsville was noted for it's horse breeding and cattle raising.  Large tracts of grazing land is still availeable, and while the area would still be considered rural and very agricultural, the city has become more than a reflection of it's early farm and ranching history.

Construction of the Tooele Ordinance Depot in 1943 began bringing outside employment to the area, and more recent developments like the Desert Peak Recreational Center, Walmart Distribution, and most recently the Larry H. Miller Race Track Facility has assured the locals of a vibrant and growing economy.

The phenomenal growth of adjacent Tooele and Stansbury Park coupled with freeway and highway improvements have given Salt Lake commutors confidence that Grantsville is an attractive possibility if they are looking to live in an uncluttered open space environment.

Real Estate in Grantsville leans toward larger lots and animal friendly properties, however recent developments have provided something for every one. Home shoppers can now find Townhouses, Condominiums, Single Family starter homes as well as some marvelous  Estates in the three quarter of a million $ range.

Come to  Grantsville, check it out.
