Northfield is a great place to live. It has all you could want from a small town yet still has the charm and tranquility of Vermont. I apologize for the first photo, I took it last winter from my deck, it (hopefully at least) shows how peaceful Northfield can be even though I live only a two minute drive (or ten minute walk) from all the amenities in town.

There is plenty to do in Northfield, we have a great municipal swimming pool (summer use only - what a shock) a great 9 hole golf course, where the members make you feel really welcome and, of course, we are home to Norwich University where you can get to see plenty of sport, whether you like football, soccer or hockey. We host a fantastic Labor day parade (and indeed weekend of festivities) , where the new cadets at Norwich head the march through the town, the culmination of a whole year of hard planning and organizing.

If you travel around the area, we are 15 minutes from the State capital, Montpelier, 40 minutes from Burlington or if you travel south on I89 for 40 minutes you get to take advantage of the tax free privileges that New Hampshire has to offer. Of course we are close to plenty of ski areas too, see my lifestyle page for some more links if that is how you like your fun!

The village common is where we have the majority of shops and businesses, from a florist, a diner, banks and even a chocolatier!! Head towards Montpelier and you get to Northfield falls, home to the Rustic bar where you can get some of the tastiest food in Vermont ( in my opinion) at great prices in a great atmosphere.
