One of the best a kid-filled neighborhoods in the Fort Hunt section of Fairfax County...between Old Town Alexandria and Mount Vernon, Waynewood offers everything for the young and old with a small town feel.  Kids walk or bike to the neighborhood elementary schoolpool, tennis, and little league activities.  The middle school is Carl Sandburg, which feeds to West Potomac High School. 

Some homes have views of the Potomac River. This neighborhood is close to Fort Hunt Parkwhere you can enjoy the summer concert series, Sunday walks with the dog, or just take advantage of the bike path along the river.

Athletics are great for the kids and Fort Hunt has a terrific youth organization...baseball, football, lacrosse, and more.  You can find information for many of the athletic teams at Fairfax County Sports Organization Directory.  The Little League Baseball organization also has their own web site.
