The Entiat Valley was first settled by the Columbia River Chinook Indian tribe in the 1800's. Entiat was originally named by the tribe as "Enteatqua" which means "Rapid Water". For many years, Chief Silico Saska's campsite was located at the congruence of the Columbia and the Entiat rivers. In 1896, Chief Silico Saska sold the town site of Entiat to white settlers. This is how it began...
The Entiat Valley offers an abundance of recreational activities. From Hiking, Fishing, Hunting and Camping, to Water Skiing, Snowmobiling, Mountain biking, Horseback Riding, Cross Country Skiing and Motorcycle Trail Riding. Once you've experienced Entiat you too will agree that we are the "Gateway to Recreation".
Entiat has several new housing developments to choose from. Among those developments is the newest and largest one called Saska Hills Development. Saska Hills offers several different types of building lots with views of the Columbia River, the Entiat River or the surrounding mountains. These lots are served with city water, city sewer, irrigation water and city streets. Saska Hills will consist of approximately 35 acres of open space for the residents to enjoy. Whether that's hiking, biking, walking your dogs or taking a morning jog, it's all yours. You will be impressed with this mid to upper scale housing development.
Entiat offers other alternatives too. Please feel free to call or email me about any of these other opportunities.
Entiat has done several things right in the past. Now is no exception. We have upgraded our city water system by adding one more water tower. We are currently upgrading the sewer system to cover extensive growth and our small city is currently working on a "VISION" for our community. The City of Entiat is in the process of trading some land with the Chelan County P.U.D. This will give Entiat approximately 18 acres of Columbia River Waterfront. The city is working with the community for development ideas. We know that there will be a marina, and lots of shops, eating areas and green space coming in the future.
Entiat has been a little bit of a "sleeper town" in the past. That is changing rapidly. You can still get in on the ground level of Entiat. There are still lots of opportunities in residential properties, as well as commercial properties. I would love to educate anyone on Entiat. If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to call or email me. Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you in Entiat, Washington.
