Description
Great WATERFRONT property nestled on a quiet street among mature trees & rivers views! Upon approaching the front entrance you will see a courtyard leading to the front doors. You will be drawn to the 2 story stone fireplace in the living room & french doors that offer breathtaking views of the Anclote River from almost every room. The hardwood floors, built-in bar & spiral staircase all accent the sunken living room. The large open kitchen has a huge center island with plenty of counters and cabinetry. The kitchen also overlooks the beautiful Anclote River and abundant wildlife. Large master bedroom & bath are upstairs, double vanities, walk-in closet, bath tub and separate shower. Your private veranda overlooks the pool & river. Once outside there is a deck that runs the whole back of the house. Also off the kitchen and family room is a great lanai with screened in pool & spa all overlooking the river and marina. If this isn't enough there is also a dock for your boating pleasure! Jump in your boat go directly into the channel & out to the Gulf of Mexico for fun on the Islands!!!

The region, with a series of bayous feeding into the Gulf of Mexico, first attracted attention as a place for winter homes about 1876. Some of the newly arrived visitors spotted Tarpons jumping out of the waters and so named the location Tarpon Springs. The first Greek immigrants arrived to this city during the 1880s, when they were hired to work as divers in the growing sponge harvesting industry. In 1905, John Cocoris introduced the technique of sponge diving to Tarpon Springs. Cocoris recruited Greek sponge divers from the Dodecanese Islands and Halki in particular leading, by the 1930s, to a very productive sponge industry in Tarpon Springs, generating millions of dollars a year.

In the fall of 2007, a record harvest of sponges by a single boat was made. The industry is alive and well in Tarpon Springs.
